The process of learning leads to awareness. Our awareness is limited to our experiences. As soon as man figures this out, an awareness of Truth begins to emerge.

Awareness is the ability and willingness to look.(face/confront)
That which you confront you can be aware of.
Each individual is somewhere on a acsending and decending scale of awareness.
If you go down the scale you become less and less willing to confront or face various things and so to that degree become less and less aware of them.
Increasing awareness would be reversing this dwindling spiral.

for me it means
like internal eyes being opened , things making sense that didnt before , knowing your impact on this world and the world's impact on you
