I took my pomeranian puppy into the veterinary ER the other night because he had a seizure, but they were unable to determine the cause. He had had runny eyes prior to the seizure and now he has one eye shut. Are the two related? Could he have an eye infection that caused the seizure? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :) Thank you.

You will have to ask the ER vet this question.

first off id just like to say i have a 2 year old pom and they are the BEST dogs ever. getting that off my chest- in these breads seizures are all too common. but with the eye thing- that sounds more on the lines of maybe a stroke.. bring him to a different vet- explaine the symptoms. I dont think that an infection on the eye could cause a seizure- usually when dogs seeze their eyes will flutter and roll back into their heads. you should take the little furrball to a vet asap- blood work might need to get done to rule out any infection. good luckkk!

it is quite possible that the the two are related. the infection could have cause a temperature spike which caused the seizure.

I don't think most people on here are qualified enough to answer that. I'd certainly take the poor little guy in and have it checked.
