that is a very good point, the idea of "god" prays upon weak individuals, who pass it on because they are not comfortable with themselves, they do not wish to take responsibility for themselves, for their future, and then this idea of a higher power that will give you everything you want in life if you pledge you love for him, and if you don't, or you do and then don't fallow th rules you will suffer for all eternity. It is an act of mental terrorism, and at least a cult mentality.

well..Worshiping him in your own free will because he's god and being foreced to worship are 2 differnt things. His "rules" are common sense things like, dont murder the guy down the street or go out into a library and set a fire. A terrorist 1. a person, usually a member of a group, who uses or advocates terrorism.
2. a person who terrorizes or frightens others.
God doesn't speak in favor or support terrorism..its actualy a "sin" to him. Also the only way you should be frightened if you are scared of the eternal suffering, whcih hasn't been proven either. Being atheistic/agnostic I think i can see what god really is a bit better than mono/polythistict people. He really isn't a terrorist, he really is just someone to look up to, like a dad.

LOL, that is quite the cynical way to look at it my friend. I might agree with you on this. Did you see that episode of Malcom in the Middle when Dewey compared God to being a boy with a magnifying glass that kills ants? Man that was funny. His point was no mattar how much God tortures us, we cannot do much about., and is we can it is really hard.
Yeah, can't you imagine God sitting up there laughing his butt off getting some sort of thrill out us puny little humans as he dangles salvation above out heads?

God has given us life and has every right to take it away from us. You look at it as having to follow a set of rules but it is not that at all. Take the ten commandments for example, by following them, you not only make Him happy but make yourself happy. Plus, so what if you do mess up? God forgives in a heartbeat and is more merciful. All the bad that happens in this world does not come from God; it comes from Saten. I know believing is not for everyone but I just hope you will respect those of us who have found life in Him.

I' m going to tell you not to put your hand on a hot burner, not just for your own good, but because that's a "rule" in my house. If you choose not to follow, your hand will be badly burnt. That's not a threat, it's just the way it is. Same is true with God. It's not a threat, it's just the way things will be. It's your choice. You're smart enough to decide--and you've been informed of the consequences for your choices.

God offers reconciliation for sinful man.
He wills the highest and the best for us.
He want to give us a gift.
A beautiful gift of eternal happiness.
All you have to do is accept the gift.
You are not REQUIRED to worship or follow His rules.
If you accept Jesus Christ as Savior you have eternal life.
By grace are you saved, through faith, it is a GIFT of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.
Peace out.

No, it is not anything like that. You actually have a choice. I do not know why anyone would like to go to hell unless they do not believe it is true. God is God no matter what we think of Him. I want to team up with Him, and I rely on His understanding.
Worshiping God is easy when you have a personal relationship with Him. : )

IF God existed, then you would be correct, but God doesn't exist. It is as foolish to believe in god as it is to believe in the easter bunny. Someone just came up with the idea of God to make people afraid that if they did not live life in an "acceptable" way they would be forever doomed to hell.

God doesn't threaten anything. He gives us free choice. You chose right or wrong. One is rewarded, one is punished. There are only 10 rules to follow and unless you are a murderer, cheater, liar, thief, dishonor your parents, etc. you won't be punished. God is love, not eternal damnation!

With the amount of terrorism committed in his name, you would think so, wouldn't you...and that is just here in the US by the Fundamentalists...when you think of all the Muslims added to the Fundamentalist, I am quite sure you are absolutley correct. Call Homeland Security...you have hit on something big here.
