Could you please tell me in what way? I'm just trying to grasp a better understanding on how this is supposed to work. >.<

Its not like one of us messed up. We just figured its what best because honestly we're young. Really young. I'm 18, she's 16. We thought we needed to expand our views and mature. Before commiting to something long term. I guess i answered my own question. :D anyone agree with my view?

No! Breaks only lead to other problems and false hopes of achieving a better relationship. Breaks are break ups and if the other person, or yourself, dates an outsider bad feelings will arise and you're in for nothing but more issues.

Everyone in a relationship needs to have their own personal space, that is, a part of their life that they can call their own. If two people are constantly spending every waking moment with each other, then there will be no opportunity to explore oneself.
Sometimes, breaks are necessary to discover if two people really want to share their lives together, for example, in the case where one person started dating you at an early age, and never dated anyone else but you.
In any event, a break should be mutually agreed-upon with the purposes clearly explained, if not also the length of time for the break.
If you hear your partner saying, "I need some space," that means he or she is feeling smothered.
The point to remember is that if two people are meant to stay together, then they will regardless of how many breaks they take.

Breaks typically are the beginning of the end...if a couple needs a break from their relationship, then they are not a good match or need to look at why they feel a virtual short term breakup is going to fix whatever isn't working.
By far the majority of couples I've known where one person wanted a break, broke up before the break was over. It's happened to me as well.

Depends on the definition of taking a break. If it means you get together with other people during the break, you might as well just go ahead and say that you're breaking up. If you just both want to spend some time alone, it's not necessarily a bad thing.

It can be if both parties agree that it is just a break. But usually its the sign that things are over and the party asking for the break is being nice by saying its a break

I do it all the time. I mean when me and my gf of that time have an argument we have a break for a week and not talk at all. i dno how it works but i suppose when you are not talking for a bit of time you feel as if its over and well things change. AND when they return back to normal another break happens to calm things down. Gives you your space if you know what i mean.

No. In my experience taking breaks means that you want to see other people, which leads to a lot of heartache. End it or keep seeing the person. Very simplistic, but I've found it to be the best.

Yes and no. Depends on the people. If it is meant to be, there will be no more breaks. Breaks can be a good thing because it allows both people to learn about themselves.

no i dont think they are healthy --- either resolve problems or split up --- a break to me is an excuse to look around for someone else and if you dont find someone then get back together ---- sort out your problems talk to each other --- i want to be with my lady 24/7 --- best wishes to you both
