I went to a church last week in Pennsylvania for a friend's wedding. I took one look into the people inside and I was like, "WOA!!!!" At least half of them were "pleasantly plump."

Of course, I'm not saying all American Christians are obese, but I've definetely seen a noticeable amount amongst the adults...

I'm a thin Episcopalian, and come from a family full of thin Episcopalians. Most of the people at my church are thin, too. But a few are overweight, and that's their business, not mine. If someone is heavy-set, the answer could be due to a number of reasons, such as medical issues, an inability to afford proper food (as opposed to cheaper "empty-calorie" fare), injury, weight gain due to aging, a lack of exercise, or a thousand other reasons which I'd be better off not speculating. If I went to a friends wedding, I would be looking at the bride and I wouldn't be making comments about how fat everyone in the church was.................plus you don't know that they were all American Christians.....Its too bad that's what you got out of going to a friends wedding!

America has a higher percentage of overweight people.That's not meant to be a slight on America,but it's just facts.If you travelled around to see all the Christians all over the world,you'd see that most of them are not obese,and are just a normal weight,like anyone else.

Considering that sixty percent of Americans are overweight, it's not just Christians. Anyway, climate, geography, social status, etc can all determine the average weight of a group of people. Maybe it's just people in Pennsylvania, I don't know.

Just by going into one church? That's hardly a representation of Christians as a whole. As long as we're 'fat in the faith' is all that counts.

Its just because they believe that God has blessed them and they can eat everything they want and not suffer any consequences! If you look in the Bible theres actually a diet that Christains are supposed to follow...
