Flying to Arizona on March 3, should I wait a week to book my flight... Will push bill to next credit card statement, but will costs be more/less/the same?

This is something you should have booked this months ago.....this is high season for any place warm.
If you are unable to book now and want to wait till last min. you could do so, but you will pay more or maybe not fly at all because it is extremely expensive of a price.
Airlines are in bankruptcy due to "last min. cheap deals". Consumers will see this major change in 2007 unlike anything they have seen before, in rates especially.
The airlines are flying fewer flights to where the demand is still there, but the supply isn't. Unfortunately no one can predict the cost even in doing the "price a ticket for 2 days prior to get the idea". In doing it that way, it is very unreliable. There are so many determining factors of an airline ticket price. Availability, season, airline, etc.
Book in advance! If you can that is or you might just get majorly burned.

two choices either you buy early with an almost guarantee to save money or you can wait until the last minute and hope to get a last minute seat for cheap. any time in between the two is hit or miss. I usually buy as soon as i know i need to be somewhere.

It will probably be the same. What I would do is go to a site like expedia and check prices for Feb 16 to see what it's like to buy 2 days beforehand. That price would give me a good idea of what it's like to buy at the last minute this season. Hope that helps.

buy a ticket A. S. A. P.(as soon as possible) if not they may charge more for a ticket

always buy tickets as soon as you can, the earlier the better.
