Three days ago my identical twin sister committed suicide. She shot herself in the head while in the bathtub. The bullet didn't kill her and she drowned. I have a therapist who I saw that night and will see again tomorrow but I want to talk more. I can't seem to find an online support group. Can someone direct me?

I am so sorry that you are having to go through this pain. I lost my son to suicide in July of 2005. I understand your pain. And i understand your need to talk with others who have been through the same thing as you. Its hard for people to really"get it" without having been there. I'm going to suggest a group called SOS or survivors of suicide. There are allover the United States. It really helps me to be around other people who know how I'm feeling. You can find a group in your area by doing a yahoo search for the group. I am also in two online groups. I am sending you the website to go to.

Please don't try and do this alone. Find friends to talk to also.;

You have my condolences. First I have never heard of any support groups for this type of problem. That does not mean that they are not out there. How ever the things you must do to help yourself are to understand why she did it and if it was due to any form of organic brain disease, psychological problems etc. This will help put some sort of reason to it. Then understand that there is nothing that you could have done to prevent it. Even if she called you right before you or anyone else would not have been able to get there in time to do anything.

Other wise, you have not given enough information for any of us to be of any real help to you.

Please understand that in her mind this was the best thing for her to do and that being said is proof that she was not in the right frame of mind.

Do not punish yourself over this. You being a twin may feel her presence around you, this is fine. Do not be afraid of it. Welcome it. If it comes in a dream embrace that dream and cherish it.

:O)

I am not sure how long I will be on here but email me via this and I am here for you to talk. My brother in law did the same thing except he wasn't in a tub with water. Email me and I can chat for a while.
