I was just reading the comments and just to clear things up...I already have a tattoo, not deciding whether or not to get one (so for the person who said "little kids should stop watching Miami Ink"... I'm 22...thanks.) I have a small angel on the back of my shoulder and get a lot of compliments on it. I've just run into many different opinions about girls and tattoos and wanted to hear what you all think.

well, i'm a girl but i'm going to answer this question too. if you want a tattoo, get one. don't get or not get one based on what strangers tell you. some guys hate it when girls have tattoos, some guys are indifferent and some wouldn't date a girl without them.
i see nothing wrong with girls having tattoos. i have some and will be getting more and none of them have anything to do with what a guy or anybody will think of me. i get tattoos because i love them.

i think that other than religious extremists most people in the usa no longer have problems with tattoos. my ex wife is actually a tattoo artist she has a lot of tattoos but every one is put in its place to accentuate her beauty. i have a lot of tattoos and they are all there to accentuate what i already have as well. i do agree that there are many different kinds of guys out there and many guys still have the mentality that a girl with a tattoo "is a tramp who you would never date but will definitely put out" this is just dumb. then you have the people who believe that you will go to hell if you have tattoos, this is also dumb. but i think the thing you need to remember most is that tattoos are an expression of who you are, who you were and who you will be. any one who would have a problem with your tattoo is probably not someone you should be with because it is not accepting you for who you are. personally i think that tattoos are the sexiest accessory a woman can wear. many of my friends are indifferent to girls with tattoos it is just not that important. but if you have one every one will have an opinion about them. just stay true to yourself and who cares what anyone else says.

Depends where your from. Me and my wife took a road trip from NY to Cali stopping at my friends in Montana and S.Dokota. At a rest stop everyone was staring at my wifes tats not her t!ts her tattoos asking her Q? and no one had any tattoos there. It was weird. so guy had a home made initals on his arm, but in Cali its natural so it all depends where your from. But girls with tattoos are ok but if you get one get one that stands out and not a stupid butterfly or a flower get a crazy one that guys will ask you about to break the ice in a bar or club you know.

Is that a trick question? You do know that everyone here is inked don't you? My wife is tattooed, my daughter is tattooed. You're proably not going to get an accurate survey of how society feels about tattoos on girls from us. I suggest you post that one in Politics ......you would get a more accurate cross section there.....

I think they're hot. I think they are best when not immediately visible except with lower back tattoos, those are hot even tho they can be immediately visible if the woman who has one is wearing a top that exposes her midriff. I just prefer that a woman doesn't have so many that it distracts from her natural beauty.

Some can be quite sexy and others not so much.
I wouldn't want to date a girl/woman with a comic strip tatooed across her lower back
I think it might be a little distracting.

I've never liked them. Especially when they're big. But some girls can wear it well. From middle-age onwards it is quite trashy. If you're considering doing it then you should try to have the laser-removable tattoo applied. See below.

It depends on what and where. I'm not a big fan of big, overly vulgar or violent imagery nor do I care for anything on the breasts.

I have never seen a tattoo on a women that I thought was attractive, but it is about what you think.
