I have an older (lower memory) computer with Windows 98 on it. I would really like to download a Windows Media Player w/ the different skins and visualizations, but I don't want to take two hours downloading WMP 11 just to find it won't run correctly on my computer. Is there an older version of WMP that would be a better fit for my computer? Any suggestions?

just go to Microsoft.com and type in the search box on the right wmp. there should be a link that says how to determine the version of windows media player. this will tell you which version is right for you

Here's an easy way to get media player that will work no problem.

Go to http://www.free-codecs.com and look for Media Player Classic, it's a version 6 player with skins and those silly visualizations, but greatly scaled down.
If you can't find it on its own, download the full K-lite codec pack it's included in it.

WMP6 should work. but i think WMP 9 will run on it. i would definitly not waist 2 hours on WMP11. try 6, and if 6 works, try 9. =)

good luck!
