I'm no doctor, but it might be acid reflux. If antacid doesn't help, try eating something. If the pain goes away for a short time, it would point to acid reflux. There are otc meds for a.r., but prescription drugs are probably more potent.

Begin by chewing your food 25-50 times per bite. I will almost bet that you average maybe 10. That will help the heartburn caused by making your system do what should already be done.
It is likely that this has also caused muscles to be tight in other places - read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.

Try taking some Zantac about 30 minutes before setting out on a jog. Gaviscon could be used right before the jog but probably wouldn't be enough to hold you through the whole run. Experiment with eating/not eating and drinking/not drinking to find out how to minimize your heartburn.

My husband uses baking soda, teaspoon with water and drink up ,will take it away trust me I've tried it for immediate relief,, has to be the good stuff cow brand,,,not the no name,,will work promise and you will feel better...done this for years and immediate and cheap,,keep a box in fridge when flares up.
