Hi i have experienced great pain and i can not seem to forget it. is it possible that people who experience great pain can never forget it. when i see a dr, they think i am overly expressive of my fear of pain, but they do not understand how much pain i have experienced.

I don't think that the doctors can truly understand. unless and until they themselves, have gone through the same experience. I, myself, about 2 years ago, had 5 surgeries with anesthesia (being completely put out) within 7 days. I am terrified of going through surgery again. EVER. I think we sometimes reach a limit and truly believe that we cannot reach that limit again. I wish you good luck and best wishes with whatever you may have to deal with.

Okay well, here's what I think.
There are some people that can never forget serious pain. I've been through several operations with no anethesia or numbing cream or anything, I've never forgotten any of it.
As for your fear of pain, don't worry about that. The doctor's wouldn't know about that unless they've been through it. I had a terrible experience with needles a few years ago, and to this day, I will not let anyone near me with a needle. It's normal. Don't worry about it.

I had a gall bladder attack that was quite painful. I would rather go through childbirth than experience that again. It was awful-no words to describe it.
