I think that if you like someone, and you know he isn't good for you or the timing isn't right, then you should try to surround yourself with people and activities you love. It's going to be hard at first, but making yourself busy will allow you to see that you have a lot of things going for you in your life, whether you have a boyfriend or not. But never give up on a boy because you feel you aren't worth his attention; you are a valuable, beautiful person and any man would be lucky to have you in his arms! And don't you forget that!

Well, it depend what the context is behind "liking a guy". If you have a crush on someone that's a friend or something else, I suggest going for it and seeing if there could be something from it. You will not be disappointed. You will have no regrets.

If you dated the guy and it ended because something bad happened between you both, then I suggest giving yourself distance from the guy.

Now, if you dated him years ago and he was immature but then you talk to him now and he's more mature, and definitely a better person. Again, try being friends with him and see where it goes. You won't be disappointed if he ends up being the love of your life. Give him a chance, especially if he has always been very respectful of you and never had any ill intentions of you.

If you dated the guy recently and you still miss him, especially now more than ever because of valentines, I suggest just doing stuff to get him out of your mind. You know, if you're busy reading and stuff, you won't think of him much.

There are so many possibilities. It all comes down to your situation.

You kinda really don't-- you just move on. I've had great guys in my life that weren't right. It's a few months of absolute torment, the months of what-if, then you find someone else who is so much better! Everyone has negative qualities-- thinking about theirs is just another way of thinking about them-- not really a good idea if they aren't available. Journal, have a good gab fest with your friends, focus on what you can do for you! Been there too many times.

Find a new guy. That always works!

A temporary solution is watch movies with really hunky guys in them - eg Troy, Lord of the Rings, even Dances With Wolves. At least you'll be distracted for 3 hours! :-)

There is no surefire formula for this. Only time will help. It helps if you do not have to have a lot of contact with this person. I think the mistake we tend to make is to try the "friend" angle. This is only helpful when there has been some time to heal and get over your unrequitted affection.

It depends on how much you feel for him. If you like him enough, you won't want to get over him. i always get over guys by either waiting until the crush is gone, or completely humiliating myself on purpose. If your patient and don't think about it too much then you'll get over him faster

They say that best medication from been stuck on one man - it's meeting another man.. Meet another man (better the one who will like you back) - and your problem will go away forever... Sometimes we stuck on someone because we are desperate... Believe me it's much better to feel that someone likes you, that like someone and suffering with it...

I always used to look at all the bad things about him. if I knew he was really bad for me, or that he didn't want me. that's what I did. I just pretty much made him look like a complete jerk in my eyes.

Well really it's kinda hard. You have to make yourself believe your over him and then let the feelings die out. They'll go away if you give them time.
