some nice things to have:

Playdough
washable markers
glitter and glue!!!! (messy, but so fun to make sparkly pictures)
finger paints or watercolors
construction papers and safety scissors

A few ideas:

make macaroni and yarn necklaces

get some craft popsicle sticks, build houses with them or color faces and glue fabric on them to make people

graham cracker "gingerbread houses" glued together with icing and decorated with raisins or candy (nice to combine with snacktime)

make homemade silly putty together

get a large appliance sized box and cut out a window and door and decorate it for a playhouse

Have fun!

Go to sites like fisher price.com. They have color pages you can print. At 3 nothing is more fun than painting. Especially finger painting, or try feet painting. Try painting with chocolate pudding, messy but fun.

Use tempera paint to make handprints or thumbprints and then when they dry draw little faces, hair, wings, etc to make lots of cute things.

Go to the local library and see if they have any idea books. Search to web for ideas. Even go to the bookstore and write down ideas you find.

Just remember if you plan on doing crafts with small children, their work will and should look like a child did it. DO NOT make repairs or help them "make it look better". They should be proud of their art and so should you.

Honestly your child does not care if you are creative or not. Cutting out shapes and pasting them on colored paper is fun and teaching our children hand control.

Your daughter is 3, she can help you cook, this can be an arts and crafts situation, then you get to eat it!

Below are a few sites you can visit.

Have fun creating.

You dont have to be artistic to do arts and crafts with your toddler, they love anything you do, trust me. Just mess around with playdoh or get some paints out, she will love it honest. Also go on a walk and get some leaves, twigs etc and make a collage, always popular. For more ideas there are tons of websites, just type in arts and crafts for kids on google and see what comes up. Good luck.

Who cares if you aren't artsy fartsy! Color! Draw! Make up silly songs! Your daughter doesn't care!

Go outside, grab some leaves, and bring them inside. Paint them all kinds of different colors & then paste them onto construction paper.

Go buy some lincon logs or tinkertoys.

Get some construction paper, punch three holes down the long side of a few sheets, then tie them together with yarn. Go outside with your daughter and let her pick up things that look interesting-leaves, grass, flowers, etc. Then bring it all back inside & make a scrapbook of your nature hike. She can glue the items to the pages, or if she picks up rocks, she can trace them. Then you have something to show Daddy or the grandparents so they can see what y'all do together, or on rainy days you can sit and remember your nature walk.

take several small glasses of water, drop food coloring into them (one glass green, one red, one blue, etc.). Then drop an few handfuls of uncooked macaroni noodles in & let them sit long enough to soak up some of the color. Take them out & dry them. When they are all dry, take some lengths of yarn, and the two of you can make necklaces, bracelets, anklets and crowns with them by stringing the colored noodles onto the yarn.

Use your imagination and tap into your daughter's as well! Kids can create some fun stuff! They haven't been taught to be bored yet !

Go to Joann's or Michael's and purchase prepackaged little projects. I have a friend that does that and the kids just love it. They are usually easy and have basic instructions. Plus, at 3 years old, anything can be fun!

get coloring books (or you can print coloring pages online).

Everyone loves to color.

Go outside, find different things in nature (leaves, sticks etc) and help her glue them on a poster paper.
