Hang out with some new people who don't drink. My experience is if you want to stop and you're around the same people, you'll still be drinking. If you find you can't stop on your own will you might want to look into at least outpatient counseling. Good Luck

Seems like you have hte will which is what you need first.
I sorta know what you mean. Its against my religion to drink, so while at home i don't. Easily go 1 or 2 months with no desire to drink.
But there was a left over case from this past weekend in my fridge. Haven't drank anything besides beer since then.
IF you go to bars and stuff....bring just enough money for cover and a soda. Might be better just not to go.
Don't leave any alcohol in your house.
One of my tactics is i keep my money in a paypal account. Every monday i put $120 back into my bank account ($60 for msokes...60 for drinks). It takes about 4 days for the money to actually reach you though. So basically you are poor and can't afford to get drinks until hte weekend.

limit your drinks, say 6 a day, then cut back each week. If you are having less than 6 a day then start where you have 4 so 4 and so on

Have a buddy you can call anytime you get the urge. Replace the drink with something else. A fruit drink, sports drink, or anything you like. You can do it! If there's a will, there's a way.

the best way to stop is not to start in the first place.
o k preaching aside; get rid of anything alcoholic in the house.
stay away from any place where drinks are served.
do not shop where alcohol is sold.
aaaannd the biggie. stay away from people who drink.
it is harder doing it all on your own, but it is possible.
best of luck to you.

Drink water instead, it's good for you. Get involved with something else like some kind of club.
