I fed Chicken Soup & loved it had to switch though because one of my dogs couldn't handle the duck in it. I now feed Canidae.
I have done extensive study on canine nutrition as well as dog anatomy and digestive systems. I feed a good quality meat based food because dogs are carnivores, meat eaters, designed to extract nutrition from meats not grains. It is also a lot more economical to feed a good quality meat based food....it takes up to 3 times more of a grain based food as it does a good meat based food for a dog to get proper nutrition.
Foods such as Pedigree, IAMS/Eukanuba, Purina, Science Diet..are loaded with cheap useless fillers..they contain way to many carbohydrates..corn, wheat & soy are very high on the allergen list, corn and soy are implicated in recent studies as the cause of unexplained seizures in dogs, soy causes excess gas. Beet pulp has no nutritional value and only adds unnecassary sugars.
I feed only good quality meat based foods for my dogs health.

I've never heard of "Chicken soup for the dog lovers soul". What stores sell it? We have been using Purina One Lamb and Rice. We chose this because we wanted a corn free dog food. My daughter's lab was breaking out with hot spots, and gets sensitive skin as soon as the weather warms up. We did use Iams, and since we switched his teeth are a lot cleaner.

Nutro lamb and rice formula small bites. It does not contain Corn which my Llasa Apsa is allergic to. Dog food with corn makes him itch terribly. He likes it fine.
