I get annoyed when I see a litany of moronic abbreviations like:
u for you, 2 for two, b-cuz for because, 4 for for, b4 for before, str8 for straight, and on and on. The list is endless. Sounds like giddy "val gal" talk to me. ... only one small step up from someone trying to type in "rap". Oh, how annoying!

Yeah, it's annoying! Makes everyone sound as if they were either 9 years old, or as if they can't spell--or both!

I do understand the practice when texting from a cell phone, however. Ever see how long it takes to type in a simple sentence like "I love you" on a cell phone? Augh! I don't understand the advantage--it's so time consuming!

It doesn't bug me too much. If it's a lot, it'll get annoying. Like if someone says "hi how r u 2day? ive been rly busy at skool wit other ppl and now i'm liek rly tired n stuff." Ugh that's annoying. What worries me if it becomes regular and people start to use it for their regular writing, not just for the internet.

Only if they are used in business communications, or worse, on paper.

If used in that kind of communication, there is no other way to interpret it as someone who is too immature to hold a job.

Yes, I'm afraid they do. Bother me, that is. Not like I'm a-retentive or anything (you should see my house). In the future, I would appreciate it if you would spell out etcetera. Thank you. btw (oops), I like your "liltany of moronic abbreviations" sentence.

get over yourself. you try texting for a while and u 2 will be looking for shortcuts. As long as you can understand what is being written, it is fine.

no... i think they are really funny because people use them to save time and thought but it takes time and thought to think them up. It is all worth it though i guess.
