What foods have you eaten so far this week? How do you choose your meals? Seems like fast food is my first choice lately...and then I draw a blank. Anybody know where I can find some reasonable meal plans that are somewhat quick and inexpensive?

Whenever I get hungry , I go to the freezer or pantry and pull out whatever looks good at the moment. This week I have had a lot of soups as I am fighting off a cold and don't have much appetite. I live too far out of town for fast food to be an option. I use a lot of Marie Callendar frozen dinners for a quick complete meal. Of course, living alone I eat when I am hungry not on any particular schedule.

Yes, sometimes I plan meals. It can be very easy with some recipes and planning.

If you sign up at kraftsfoods.com, you can get emails with recipes. They also have weekly plans - you download pdf's of the week's recipes along with a shopping list so you can get all the food at once. It's so easy! You can also get a free magazine from them with recipes and shoppings lists.

If nothing else, looking at websites with recipes can give you ideas for new things to eat during the week instead of fast food. And they usually have calorie info. You can see if something is healthy or not, and even if you don't make it yourself, you can look for it at a restaurant when you go to lunch.

I gave up menu planning years ago. I found something easier.

I keep my pantry and the garage fridge stocked with all the ingredients necessary to make almost anything. All the time. It costs a little extra in the beginning but is well worth it in the long run.

This works perfectly for me and hubby. Once you know what your family likes to eat, and you have all the ingredients you need to make any of it, your set.

Planning a menu and then shopping for those items and then sticking to the menu all week, every week, that is too restrictive for my schedule. Good luck to those who can do it.

I don't really *plan* the week out, but I *do* try to make a lot of stuff on Sundays - soups, salads, chilis, etc. That way, I have good healthy choices ready and available on the run.

I chose my meals (usually) on nutrition, and I do 99% of my own cooking - I try very hard to avoid too much pre-processed crap.

What kinds of foods do you like? Go to allrecipes.com for some ideas. If you're trying to keep it low-cal, try weightwatchers.com.

Just try to eat healthy, wholesome foods and you should be just fine.

No I don't usually plan my meals for the weak. You should just decide what you want to eat that morning or even right before you eat. Sometimes if I do have something planned, I never actually want that. I usually just whip up whatever is in my kitchen cabinet.

What I do is really just cook whatever I'm feeling like that day. I also look through my recipe books and make sure I have the ingredients. I always make sure I have the ingredients to my fave meals. And if I can make my own meal, that's always great too!
