classic army makes some amazing weapons for the sport. their m16 rifles are possibly the best m16 style gun you can get for airsofting. very strong, pretty customizable, they make quite a few external upgrades and it's a pretty durable gun. the only way you're gettin a more durable gun would maybe be an ICS m16

also. another answer said somethign about tippman. no.
don't EVER buy a gun from someone other than a respectable airsoft manufacturer (ICS, CA, Marui, UTG etc.) tippman is a big paintball manufacturer but they're relatively new to airsoft and their weapons are nothing compared to something you'd get from one of the big name manufacturerers

now if you don't want to spend the 300 dollars on a classic army gun i highly recomend the UTG ak 47 rifle. they're cheap, durable, and they shoot strong and fast (cost about 110 and the pack comes w/ a sling, a loader, the gun and 2 high cap mags).

hope that helps ya out a bit.

Try an air soft pistol becuase they are the cheapest and you can see if you like it or not and then try another1 maybe.

Airsoft refers to a sport or recreational pastime in which players participate in the simulation of military combat also called MilSim or law enforcement-style combat using smoothbore airsoft guns(or "twist" barrels) designed as replicas of real firearms.

Airsoft has its roots in late-1980s East Asia, specifically Japan where firearms were difficult or impossible to obtain due to local laws; gun hobbyists sought a legal alternative for enjoying their passion. It is therefore unsurprising that airsoft is still today most popular in several Asian regions, such as Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, South Korea, and to a certain extent, the Philippines, and Indonesia. The vast majority of airsoft guns, accessories, and after market upgrade parts are also manufactured in these countries.

There is also a growing interest in North America and Europe, especially in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain, Poland, Lithuania, Portugal, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Italy, Belgium (which is also visited by Dutch players, as the game is illegal in the Netherlands), Denmark, Chile, and Argentina, bolstered by an active and expanding Internet scene.

That's what I said to the cop last night:
"Airsoft gun? What airsoft gun? This is the real thing, man" and then we went out for coffee.

Get a $30 spring airsoft sniper rifle that shoots at least 350 fps. (feet per second) Make sure it is spring cuz they are cheaper but they don't break as easily.

You should look into a Tippman airsoft gun. They are affordable and very high quality. This line of theirs is new and worth-while.

Try a manual hand gun at first, then go to the automatic rifle.
