It can be caused by stress or allergy. My daughter and her baby had it really bad. Try to figure out what is causing it. Stress, detergent, or food allergy. His was detergent, hers was stress. She switched to baby soft laundry soap and also used Aveeno lotion for him. It's all gone. You can also get 1% cortisone cream from the drug store or the doctors have others that work very well. If it's stress take a vacation! good luck!!

You never get rid of it fully but there are ways to ease the itching. First most people with eczema are allergic to nickel. Hard to stay away from since most things have nickel in them. Just be more cautious when handling things.
Okay a good cure is an aloe plant. Take a leaf and squeeze the juice out onto your hands and rub it in. What I do is after wards I wear a pair of thin white cotton gloves to keep in the moisture.
Second thing you can use is an oatmeal mix. Take 1/4 cup of oatmeal and 2 tablespoons of warm water. Mix well and rub onto your hands. Let set for 5 minutes. Rinse with cool water.
The main thing is to not use hot water on your hands heat makes it worse. Use lotions such as Dove or Oil of Olay.
I hope this helps. I have it and have had to use different things to see what is best for me.

Eczema needs to be treated both internally and externally.
On the outside, treat with topical steriods (see a dermatologist) and seal it in with Vaseline or Vanacream to break the itch-scratch cycle.
On the inside, I recommend all-natural Flax Seed (one tablespoon a day). The typical American diet is low in Omega 3 fatty acids. The single best source is all natural flax seed. I've written an article this and on the benefits of flax seed if you would like more details.

It cleared up my Eczema. Give it a shot.

I have excema too, but in the last couple of years I have been able to control it better -- I started using Johnsons & Johnsons body wash. It is gentler on the skin and helps prevent breakouts. I would get them so bad all the time and now, I just have to use a prescription once a year or so.
Good Luck!
