DO NOT USE A TEST LIGHT IN A CAR APPLICATION!!! There are many risks including but not limited to damaging and deploying airbags and damaging vehicles ecm's. That said always use a DMM when testing wires in a vehicle. It is so very easy to damage a vehicles sensitive equipment with a VOM or test light.

Dont want to hook them up at random, if you get the power tied to a speaker wire, you will cook the poor thing. Best thing would be to get a manual for the CD player or find someone who can trace it out for you. NEVER trust color codes! They are often messed up.

get a manual for the car or get a test light and hook it up to a ground the go through all the wire untill it lights up thats power the spaker wire wont light up the light

get adobe pdf make a copy take to car/truck .
do same for radio and vech. then make a chart for both
g r bl b b/bk ...
certain wires turn on with the key others for clock are constant .
keep your solution when done .

and i have all the color codes for all the radios and all the vehicles,
to bad you didn't tell us if you are installing this on a ford pinto 1960 or a 2008 helicopter
