I've observed this myself...yes, by looking down when I was done.
The best I can determine is that something in the koolaid...a mineral salt that helps derive the purple color, maybe... causes a minor surge in the liver to generate a rush of bile. This can be observed when one does a homeopathic liver flush using epsom salts, only much MUCH more profound...and (TMI alert) way greener.
edit: I guess if I read above, I'd have noticed support for my suspicion sooner :) Bravo to the poop report!

How do you know I do this? Or you watching me when I poop?
It's because there is green food colouring in the purple Koolaid, even though you'd think there wasn't because it's blue and red that make up purple. But it's there. The other colours that they use in it are close enough to the brownish colour of the poop, so they don't stand out in it.

Because, "The dye used in purplesaurus Rex is FDA Blue #5, and dye-lake red. Turns out that when metabolized in sufficient quantity, the blue dye combines with bile, and forms a brilliant green. The red, absorbing at a 595nm spectrum, is harmlessly eliminated."

And, probably, the reason it's more prevalent in kids is because they drink GALLONS of the stuff.
Can't believe I actually found a 'Poop Report'.

Sweet Polly doesn't sound too sweet in her answer.
I want to marry a woman like her.
Good answer, love the poop report, wouldn't want to party with the people who wrote that up though.

Not sure but holy men used to use this kind of thing to their advantage. They would add certain things to the church drinks which in turn gave you red piss making you think it was blood. They would then give the same drink without the addative and say they healed you and you would be magically cured!!
