Sprains take longer to heal than broken bones. Start with gentle work outs, (walking) but if the pain is not getting better, definately see the Dr.

Yes get it checked out. Go to your doctor. To help full recovery go to a massage therapist or a physiotherapist. Every injury you get have scar tissue build up during healing. If the scar tissue is not broken down it may not heal as good. By the way you might by walking a bit dodge due to pain and since it has been 3 weeks well do go physiotherapy because your posture might have slightly changed (pressure of one side of the body more than other for a period of time can cause muscle imbalancement and poor posture).

Personally I would see a chiropractor and maybe a massage therapist.
The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies teaches about muscles, pain and referred pain. And what to do for it..
And wear an arch support.
