Jesus would not have been allowed to TEACH in the Temple before his coming of age. Kids, whoever they may be , DID NOT do this! Jesus spent forty days in the "wilderness" a pseudonym used by the Dead Sea community (Qumran). I am sure Jesus received a typical Jewish education being taught Torah and Mishnos in Yeshiva and synagogue. The statement in Luke, which says that Jesus was even in the Temple demonstrates that his parents raised him according to the laws of G-d, as his family annually attended the Passover in Jerusalem.

After his bar mitzvah he went to live with his great-uncle Joseph of Arimathea ( according to Traditions of Glastonbury) who was a member of the Sanhedrin and a Decurio, which is an official Roman title for one involved in tin trade in the British isles. From several historical sources, including those of Gildas Badonicus, it appears that Jesus lived with and traveled with his great uncle and was taught by him directly from the age of 13 to 30.

He studied in Egypt during his youth. When he came back "home" to start preaching he followed John the Baptist. After John the Baptist was jailed he gathered his disciples and they followed him. This is all documented in ancient history as well as the bible:
