Real Friend & common_sense, I don't know if God is real, but if he is then I would expect him to be able to let me know he is there through prayer. I don't firmly believe in God, but by praying I have at least a hope he is there, else I wouldn't pray.

If anyone can answer this question they must be God...I'll give it a shot. Your prayer will be answered in a personal, intimate way. It will be in a way which will touch you heart and fill you with knowledge of truth. He will become clearly evident in all areas of your life. I believe He welcomes a question like this because it comes most times at the lowest point in a person's life. A time when they are hungry for answers and desiring truth and stability in their life. He will reveal Himself to anyone who is looking.

He will answer it in a way personal to you. We all must learn how to speak/communicate with God. The Bible does state it is by the Holy Spirit we will know all things. But, then how do we know when the Holy Spirit is speaking to us? I'd say it's just a feeling, whether it by good, comforting, chilling, etc. On the other extreme it could be by a vision or other revelation. God does expect us to work out our problems and put in the effort, then he will provide confirmation. Good luck.

Ah, God is there, love. He's in the invisible closet with the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and the Belief that America is a Democracy.

Then again, do you really want an answer to this question?

Jesus encouraged His followers to "ask, and it will be given unto you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opended unto you" (matthew 7:7-12). One challenge in learning to pray is learning to ask in accord with God's will (1 John 5:14). To understand God's will we must study Scripture---God's instruction manual. Through prayer, we can talk to God about all our concerns........If you have sensed a void in your life, if you feel cut off and alone, why not talk to God about it in prayer? If you have sensed the emptiness and irrelevance of organized religion, just share your feelings with your Creator, the real God of the universe! Ask Him to help you come to understand the Bible and the true meaning of life. Ask Him to guide you to where He is working through His Church. Ask Him to help you learn how to live life according to His instructions, so you can receive the rewards that are His to give........ Begin to pray!

Your "question" doesn't make a lot of sense.

If you DOUBT that God is, then why ask "how should [your] prayer be answered"? Why would you PRAY "to find out"?

God answers ALL in His way and in His time.

If you are a Christian, you know where God is. If you are not you need to pray for forgiveness of your sins and ask God where can you find him.

Hint: He is very close!

Anyway God sees fit.

FYI: Some prayers are not answered and some answers are not what you'd expect and WHEN answered is not up to you but up to God.
