Probably not, but I do have a lot of respect for that guy that did in the subway in N.Y. that is above and beyond. I really think it would depend on the situation with me. But my answer is probably not.

This is one those questions that I just cannot answer with great certainty.

Would I die for my country? Likely not.

Would I die for my family? I'm not entirely sure. Is my love and loyalty to my family members actually strong enough to overcome my sense of self-preservation and my instinct to avoid a possibly painful death? I want to say yes. I trully do.

Would I rather die than let another person die? Again, I want to say yes, yet I have never been in that situation. Honestly, I hope I never ever will.

I would die for any of the children I know and love and I would die for the kids on the street if their life in danger and I could help. It’s all about the children you never know which one could be the one.

Depends, really. I mean - we *all* say, "if I were ever in that situation, I'd _______"

But you don't *know* what you'd do until you're in it.

Who is the person on the street? Who is threatening his/her life and why? Is it a criminal being chased by the cops? Is it an abused child fleeing from their parents? It's too open of a question.

A very intelligent and provocative question! A welcome change from so much of the nonsense on Y!A.

I don't think any of us know if we would risk our lives for a stranger on the street. I certainly hope that I would, if it would do some good, but no one knows what they will do in a crisis.

It is interesting to speculate, though. What do you think you would do?

I would die for my religious belief. If someone told me that they were going to kill me unless they believe in what they believe (say like Atheism), I would give my life up. I am really proud to be a Christian and I would give my own life to prove that I would stick by God no matter what :)
