This is the first offense but charges were brought after the second offense. The second brought 24 months probation.

This is my son. He tried to kill himself by taking pills, and while under the influence, got talked into going into an "empty" building... it wasn't. two weeks later after being in a hospital he was in the car while the same person broke in somewhere else. Even the police knew he didn't do it, but he did not leave or report it. So he was charged as well. He is in now with a 50,000 dollar bond. Even though they let him out on a Recog. bond the first time.(which was the second time).

If he's still on probation, then his probation will be revoked and he will have to serve the remainder on his original term AND any additional. Sounds like a real loser. I think IL has the 3 strikes law. One more and he'll be in prison a LONG LONG time as a habitual offender.

Anyway, 2 years for the probation violation and probably 3-4 on the 2nd felony.

this would be depending on the prosecutor if he wants to alter the second sentence they have the right to do so also if they dont it can be up to 4 years in jail and up to a 1 thousnad dollar fine i would reccomend checking the offender inbto a 7 day rehab and blaming this issue on drugs this will allow the judge and prosectuor to go lighter on the sentence as you have already tried to fix the problem good luck

Probably looking at 2 to 5 years in prison. Might get a better offer on a plea bargain, though.

it depends on the judge. Probably not going to go so easily on this offense, being that a 2nd one was committed, etc.

3 strikes and this person is out (rather, "IN", as in "in jail), you know...better watch yourself!

Let me guess.....Collinsville, Edwardsville, etc. Up in that area? Minimum of 5 in the state pen. He/she should have learned their lesson the first time.
