..... It's rather difficult for me,

The pronunciation comes natural to me, It's mainly the memorization that I have difficulty on.

I do study with a Spanish speaking family that lives below me every day....
They teach me Spanish,
And I teach them English,
My question is. . . . Is that how long would it take someone to learn Spanish & be able to speak it well ????

NOTE : I am a fast learner :)

hi, congratulations for trying to learn Spanish!
I really do not know how long it takes to learn it and speak well, may be a year if you practice everyday, also depends on who are your teachers, if they give you good strategies and teach you real word, that would be easy. I recommend you to translate lyrics from Spanish to English, also try to memorize the songs, you can watch Latin TV programs, it helps a lot. you can make a list of the words you want to learn per day, during the day, try to use these words speaking out loud, so you listen to yourself. write the names of some things in your house, like the window, door, kitchen, chair. I wish you luck, I'm a native speaker, and that s the way I learned English, you need to practice speaking with your neighbors.

Students and teachers alike say that this is a great way of memorizing key words that they come across each day. For those of you who don't know what a flash card is, it's simply a small piece of card that you keep with you during the day and can refer to quickly and easily. So, if you keep hearing a word while you are out and about, write it on your card. Also, if there is a word or phrase you constantly forget, write on your flashcard. You can then focus your efforts on perfecting your Spanish in the key areas you need. Simple.
