Painkillers will not cure toothache. Extraction is a last resort. Toothache is due to decayed teeth. Removing the decay and putting in a filling is the cure. In some cases the decay is spread too deep to cure by a simple filling - in that case you need to have what is called a root/nerve filling done.

Typically if it is a throbbing toothache it cannot be "cured". Call your dentist for an antibiotic - which only removes the infection until the tooth can be extracted or until a root canal can be performed on it.

It depends what kind of a toothache. Is is dull, sharp, constant or intermittent pain? You should go to a dentist to see if you chipped the tooth, have a cavity, or just ate something that got caught between your teeth.

depends what kind, a dull ache, gets worse with hot fluid? a sharp sensitive pain? You need to be more specific as there can be many reasons behind the ache you experience, either way a visit to the dentist would be helpful to you.xx

clove oil will take away the pain, just don't use too much of it (you will find out why if you ever do lol) just dab some on the gum of the tooth that is bothering you. Also my cousin swears by dabbing whiskey on the gum, but I have never tried this myself
