Take responsibility for your reaction by claiming it. I am angry because when you (fill in the blanks) it seems to me that (fill in the blanks) Don't say "you make me feel" because that is not true. Your interpretation of what they did may not truly represent what they intended. Allow for that. Don't call names or horriblize what happened. Then, announce unemotionally what the consequences of what they did will be. Wish them and nice day and leave.

In the comics they have exclamation marks and they say bah or Grrrrr. I think that this would be a great way to avoid war and bring about peace. Maybe a game of cards between our world leaders would extinguish any anger.
What a fantastic question you ask Mrs Bad. You always seem to have your finger on the pulse. Most excellent. How about a snog for valantines day. A little tongue dancing I fancy.

First off "Anger begets Anger" ... In a heated argument one must take a mental time out, take a deep breath, and approach in logic and diplomacy.
One can express their anger in appropriate words of proper etiquette, thus saving face, and walking away.
Anger and revenge seem sweet at the moment, but you can never take the words back once you have spat them out there.
Many things are opened by mistake...too many times it is the mouth.
Good Luck

With non-violent words - yes, words can be violent, if they are intended to hurt someone's feelings (such as name-calling, insults, shouting, etc).
The polite way is to say "I am very upset by this" and give the reasons you are angry. Then offer a solution, such as "I am going to leave now and try to cool down. When I return I expect an apology from you / let's try to find a solution to this problem."

Smashing of creme pies over the opponents nog always helps break the tension.
If it is my brother I say things that are simply not proper to repeat.

Talking. Expressing how you feel, but owning the anger, i.e. 'I feel angry when ....' rather than 'you make me feel angry when ...'
If you can't do that, e.g. when someone you don't know cuts you up at the lights, just swear silently and let it go.

Since you can't hit or argue.
Make a pro's and con's list to start with and each one should write a few sentences about each pro and con from the other person. this might help get to the root of the problem

Do you know why people quarrel so much? It is because they don't know how to argue! (verbally- You sir are not making sense, but are attacking my position without a logical or consistent position)
