There are a few ways...
First though, which version of windows are you using?
Windows 2000 or lower 0R Windows XP or higher?
If your using 2000, then go into file and then click new document. (make sure you go file, then new and not just click the white paper at top left) then it will ask you what type of document you want to open. There are little 'tabs' at the top of this box click publications then below this a screen will appear with a few microsoft word capable publications, obviously, then just click brochure and a ready for editing brochure will appear. You can edit text, pictures, frames, colour etc. NOTE: Clicking brochure will only work if brochure is installed on your system. If it's not simply still click it but then stick in the disk that you got to install MS Office onto your computer. This will then install the brochure thing.
For Windows XP or higher:
Again, file then new then though, on the right, a little sidebar will appear. Here, under the title, Templates, click: on my computer and then the same wizard will come up as I have said above: There are little 'tabs' at the top of this box click publications then below this a screen will appear with a few microsoft word capable publications, obviously, then just click brochure and a ready for editing brochure will appear. You can edit text, pictures, frames, colour etc. NOTE: Clicking brochure will only work if brochure is installed on your system. If it's not simply still click it but then stick in the disk that you got to install MS Office onto your computer. This will then install the brochure thing.
I know this is long but it's quite simple to do. Hope this helps.

Hmmm, Word is not the best for this, first of all. It can be done, but it might get frustrating. If you have a 'publisher' program, try it first.
Depending on the brochure, you might need to use a combination of tables, text boxes, and picture inserts (edit the picture properties). Frustrating stuff in Word.
Hopefully, Microsoft (or someone) has a template that is close to what you need.
try:

And good luck!

Go to Microsoft's Office Online site at: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/FX100595491033.aspx?pid=CL100632981033
There you can download templates for many office applications--they do list brochures.
