In my RE class someone asked me that today they have a point. I mean in the Bible some of the stories are sexist such as St Pauls and I believe the stories are from God but are changed the details around it to fit with his culture and the time he was living in. In them days women was seen as 2nd class so maybe they changed Jesus to appear as a man because of the whole sexisim in that time?

No, Jesus could not be a woman. Read the Bible. The Bible does not point to sexism. But, it does point the the varous roles of men and women, and if we did tht, we wouldnt have the trouble today. But, God says we are all equal, and He tells a man how to treat a woman, and tells a woman how to treat a man, but people want to confuse that all up and think someone they are superior, be it the man or the woman. No, they are gifts to each other from God, and deserve equal respect. the reason God gave the final say on certain things to the husband is this. He wants the man to work and the woman to take care of the home and family. , Lets say the man has to move for the sake of a better job and she doesnt want to. She must follow her husband, and respect him and know it is up to him to provide for his family. So, he gets final say. BUt, many twist that to mean a man can run his wife, be mean to her control her, and not even let her be a person, an individual. They dont know God....Thats man putting hiis own interruptation on stuff. Man is to treat his wife like a queen, as she is his gift from God and He knows it, and she is to do the same for him. just think, if we all did that , how neat it would be. BUt, ppl want to do their own thing. Man wants to run the woman, woman dont want it, and she wants to do her own thing and be very rebellious to her husband about most things, and no I am not sayiig NO to any abuse. No woman should ever tolerate one second of abuse.Nor should a man. The Bible is not sexist. Its peoples man made stuff about it all, telling them they can do as they please. NO they cant, and all will answer to God. We all do. Doesnt matter what the culture was then and NOW. God hasnt changed. Jesus Christ is God, and He is still the same today and tomorrow. This is all the stuff man brings into religion. If we all studied the Bible, we would truly know what it says. Read it for yourself, without all the opinions of those that arent getting it at all. NO NO NO< Jesus is not a woman. Father God and God the son, what does that tell you. The original transcript is HE, not she. BUt, femminists and lesbians have pushed this for years. doesnt matter what they think or me or you. Its only what God says.... PERIOD

No, Jesus was definitely a man. He was circumcised. This was only done on Jewish males.
Also, I don't think they "changed" the details to much, otherwise we wouldn't have Peter and John wandering around the High Priest's house watching Jesus being beaten up and not lifting a finger to rescue him. I'm sure they would have liked to erase that from history, but it's there for us to read.
There is a difference between sexism and discrimination. Sexism means a man opens the door for a lady, discrimimation means you only do it for the man who is carrying a heavy box and not for the lady carrying the heavy box.

That's taking it a bit far. The historical Jesus of Nazareth was most likely a man. God, however, transcends both male and female, but is often interpreted as a male (the Father, etc), so that's where sexism definitely plays a part.

Jesus: made under the law, and of woman.
Christ: the end of the law, and of transgession.
Eternal life is "through Jesus -> Christ".

Adam was not deceived: 1Timothy 2:14
Being deceived, the woman was in the transgession.
Pst - where no law, there no transgression: Rom 4:15

Try and stay with the script that is written.
Note such is "allegory" and "mystery".
What saith the script-u-are?
No law = no sin = no death.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Yes, He was a man, without doubt. You will not find anywhere in Scripture where it is indicated or even alluded to otherwise. Nor will you find any reputable Bible scholar who thinks otherwise. Paul did not write "stories", he wrote letters to various churches explaining the theology of the new covenant, exhorting believers and condemning bad behavior. In Christianity, male and female share equally in the salvation through Christ, the inheritance of eternal life and the dispensation of gifts.

Gal 3:28 There cannot be Jew nor Greek, there is no slave nor freeman, there is no male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

First off - that's just ridiculous.

Secondly - the Son of God, born into this world in the natural way - born of a Woman, from whom He took our flesh and nature upon Himself - so that both sexes would have access (by the normal Order of God in Creation) to the blessings of the Incarnation and His Blessed Passion and Precious Death, His Mighty Resurrection and Glorious Ascension.

Matthew 17:5 - While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

No, because everything in scripture- Hebrew and Christian- points to the savior being the SON OF GOD.

I am a woman, and really hate so-called feminists who have some weird need to make God female.

While it's true that the Biblical cultures were male dominant, Christ was born a man. The Scriptures record His circumcision.

Read the King James Bible and see Son in it and they didn't change it. If people would go to Church more and read the Bible when they should be this kind of Question wouldn't come about.
