Check out all the things that could cause the "windiness"
New dog food (especially corn based dry food), new treats, ate something he shouldn't have-cheese? bean dip? is he slurping his water or food very quickly-swallowing a lot of air? When we moved and got well water and not city water our fox terrier got very gassy from the sulphur content of the water-we switched to bottled water. Is your doggy under a lot of stress?Nerves can sometimes result in gas. If you've checked all the variables maybe it's time for a vet visit to check out his digestion-liver, spleen....

-What kind of food is he on? As unhealthy food or wet food can make a dog really gassy.

You want to stay away from foods with ingredients such as corn, wheat, fillers, beef and by products. All of those ingredients are hard for your dog or puppy to digest.

Some bad foods are Iams, Purina, Alpo, Science Diet, Pedigree, Eukanuba and Bil Jack.

Some GOOD foods are Natures Recipe, Nutro Max, Lassie Natural Way and Royal Chain.

I personally recommend Natures Recipe. It is an all natural food and extremely healthy for your dog or puppy. It leads to a shinny coat and a healthy body. It also cuts down on shedding, bad breath and the amount of stool your dog produces.

Natures Recipe had different bags for different size dogs and ages.

Stay away from wet food as it sticks to their teeth and builds up in their system. It is ok for a treat once in a while but not daily.

Before switching foods you want to check with your vet and make sure your dog or pup has no health problems.

After that you want to switch him slowly otherwise it will make him sick.

For the first week do 25% new and 75% old
Second week 50% new and 50% old
Third week 75% new and 25% old
Then they can have all new food starting the forth week.

You can find those healthy foods at your local Pet Smart or Pet Co.

Also stay away from rawhide and human food as neither are healthy for your dog. Stay with his dog food and Natural or compressed bones.

First ..Have you changed his food or the way you feed him?If not, then has he gotten hold of food on his own? Gas in normal in a dog but not all the time. My one lab gets gas a lot but he will eat anything he can get into his mouth also.

What kind of food do you give your dog? You might have to change his/her diet. There are some cases that needs medical attention. Please check with your vet if you need to change their diet or if it something more serious. If you have to change their diet, do it gradually because this might upset their stomach more and get the runs instead of gas.

are you feeding him table scraps? that could be the reason. His food could be another, Dogs don't digest people food very well and they metabolize it differently that is the number one cause of skin allergies in dogs and digestive illness. call your vet and make an appointment.
