I heard this is a 5-6 years program. Is that true? What is engineering? It would be weird that someone whos about 20 and wants to go for this degree would probably end up graduating at the age of 26. That can't be good. Can it?

Well, you'll be 26 in a few years anyway. Do you want to be 26 with an engineering degree, or without one?

What is engineering? Actually- that's a good question, as engineering is an incredibly broad field with many different disciplines. Generally- you design stuff. Depending on your specialty, anything from chemical processes, to computer circuits, to software, to bridges or buildings, to motors, to consumer products. There are many different types of engineering degrees. Some of the popular ones are: Electrical, Chemical, mechanical, Industrial, aerospace, Operations,- and lot's more.

A BS in engineering typically takes 4 or 5 years of school, full time. It's a tough degree (I have a few) and requires a lot of math. But has good career options and decent salary potential.

It probably means that you take 4 years of engineering, like all engineering students in other disciplines but you branch off/specialise or have an option to take in Industrial Engineering classes in your final years.
Generally, engineering program is about 4 years but some students spread out the courses out to 5th or 6th year due to heavy workload or work interships.

Industrial engineering is part of Mechanical Engineering curriculum. So, you'll probably be taking alot of mechanical engineering classes with an option of industrial.

They are all hard if they are worth having. Also include computers in your study.
