Jews follow Old Testament of the Bible. Jews rejected the messiah (Jesus) in order to fullfill the scriptures, but in the end, many Jews will recognize Jesus as their messiah.

There are other differences, but that's the biggie. Jews don't accept Jesus as a saviour, prophet, virgin birth, or son of God.
Other differences are that Christians do not follow the Talmud. Actually...Messianics do. Ok...the only Christians that follow the Talmud are the Messianics.
Ditto on Kaballah.
Culurally the differences are HUGE....Jews don't try and convert people (with a few exceptions). Jews never burned books, or slaughter others with no reason (we have made mistakes in Israel....but heaven knows the other side has made more). Judaism places more emphasis on family and education as a religion.
Jesus claimed that the new testament over rules the old testament., so in effect Christians do not respect the old testament.
Jews only respect the old testament.

Jews and Christians do worship the same god, but under different names; the Christians call him God, and the Jews prefer to leave him nameless (since he transcends definition), and will only refer to him as Yahweh (which translates to "I am," the words God spoke to Moses from the burning bush).
Jews recognize Jesus as a prophet, a wise man, but not the son of God or a divine being. Jews believe that the "Saviour" has yet to come.

Jews are nothing like Christians. We are talking major differences. It makes me curious as to why most people believe we are pretty much the same. I guess people get taught that. Jews -no God. They are taught that they are 'the chosen people'. They adhere to strict kosher rules, like not eating ice cream and hamburgers. They will invite you over to dinner and make you eat off of a paper plate because they believe, you as a non-Jew will dirty their utensils and dishes. Yes this happened to me. They stop all work on Friday at sunset and don't resume until sunset on Saturday. This means no flipping light switches, turning on tv, using microwave or stove, driving, and all sorts 'o crazy stuff. They have a birthname they use only with other Jews that you are not supposed to know. They are taught that it is ok to take advantage of anyone unless they are a Jew. Yes, they are taught this as a moral. They are basically morally disgusting. I live in New York, which has the largest Jewish population outside of Isreal. I know what I have experieced here, and yes you can tell just by looking at them, and vice versa..

the *core* difference is that Christians believe in jesus and Judaism does not.
but massive amounts of history, and directly descendant beliefs are different due to that core difference.
Jesus was*NOT* the messiah of judaism. he came *sorta* close. but its all or none. its a perfect score on the test, or a zero. none of this 99% stuff.
Judaism has a singular, all encompassing God, no trinity, no divisions whatsoever.
by jewish standards, belief in jesus as god, or more holy than you or I, is idolotry, and by jewish standards the trinity is polytheism.

edit: oh, to above, >>". They thus will wind up in the lake of fire which is YHVH’s method of cleaning this world, and eliminating sin and sinners. "<<
if that was the case, than I would not want to be with God anyway, as I would have been betrayed by God, and he would have lied to me.
and a God that would have a system as you say, is not worthy of my attention.
thankfully *MY* God is better than that.

Christians believe Jesus to be the son of God, Jews don't. That's about it.

There isn't one "Jewish" faith. The different strands. Orthodox Hasidic, etc are so different they can hardly be called one religion. The good part is that they (some of them ) accept the Torah. However they interpret it according to some weird old rabbi's ideas. The Almighty YHVH set up a system. He sent His “Son” YAHOSHUA to die for the sins of mankind so they would not have to. (They could choose to, but did not have to). Any person who chooses not to allow Yahoshua to take care of their sins, chooses to remain attached to their sins. They thus will wind up in the lake of fire which is YHVH’s method of cleaning this world, and eliminating sin and sinners. The Creator set aside the Seventh day for rest and worship. Yes that is the day usually called “Saturday”. We are not saved by obedience, we are saved by faith. However we are saved FOR obedience. As He said in John 14:15 (and in many other places) “If you love me, keep my commandments.
