If I have a MiniDV, how do I, after editing on my computer, transfer it to a DVD?

Are you able to do editing with a DVD camcorder on the computer on Windows Movie Maker?

Also, if I have a MiniDV, after editing on Windows Movie Maker, how can I transfer it to a DVD to watch on my TV?

So far as I know, Windows DVD Maker is only available on Vista. If you haven't got it you'll need either a dedicated DVD authoring app or an editing package that includes one. You're probably better off buying a package as the dedicated apps can get expensive. My favourite is Sony's Vegas Movie Studio, though AVS Video Editor is a nice app and much cheaper. Move maker is OK, but both these editor are much better and have integrated DVD authoring and burning.

No, you can't edit DVDs with movie maker.

As for burning to DVD, unfortunately movie maker doesn't do that either. I use Adobe Encore DVD for authoring, it's pretty expensive, but you can get a 30-day trial off of their website for free. However since you'll probably want something that lasts longer than 30 days, Adobe Premiere Elements is a great choice. It's a video editing/dvd authoring suite/program/thing whatever Anyways, my point is for $99, and from the numerous good reviews I've heard about it plus Adobe's reputation, it's a good deal. So spend the $99 now, and it'll save you money later, at least IMHO. Hope this helps!

First of all follow these tips
Saving a movie to My computer
The My computer saving option lets you save your movie for playback on your local computer. When you select this option, the final movie is stored in the specified location on your computer or on a shared network location.

If you click the My computer option, the Save Movie Wizard proceeds as follows.

Specify a movie file name and place for your movie to be saved. For more information about choosing a saving destination, see Naming the saved movie file.
Choose a movie setting for saving your movie. For more information about choosing the appropriate movie setting when saving a movie, see Choosing a movie setting.
Wait for your movie to be saved. For more information about monitoring the saving progress of your movie, see Saving your movie for local playback.
Complete the Save Movie Wizard. For more information, see Completing the Save Movie Wizard when saving to My computer.

After that you can have Nero startsmart, or any DVD making software. Import your final edited movie from the source i.e. from your computer where you saved it. then you can burn this video file on DVD or on VCD
