My son has three children, two different mothers, had 50% custody but will lose that to the mothers since he'll be in jail for a very long time. We've had these children alot, like overnights, bought their cloths, shoes, whatever they needed. Now the mothers will be getting full control and one wants to cut off all ties to the children. We love and care for these children.

One of the answers made me frustrated, so will answer that one. My husband are state liscensed and we have special needs children in our home that we take care of. The mother of two of the children thinks its best to cut off all their father's side completely which is wrong to me when we've been in their life way too much. Yes, there is grandparents rights but we can't afford an attorney so is their away we can do it without an attorney. I won't throw stones at this mother even though I'd like to. The rest of the family hasn't done anything wrong, my son and her divorced because they couldn't see eye to eye, she was too young to get married anyways but thats a grandma's opinion. Another says prayer, I think thats what its going to take, lots of prayer.

Do these mother's just don't like you because your the mother of there ex. Why don't they like you? If you have 50% custody and your going to lose that why? Because they the mother's said so. Or did the courts say so. What's going on here.Or your son had 50% custody. I know there's something called grandparents rights. But your going to have to go to court on this. If you have the time in money then go for it.

You can file for visitation under grandparents rights. You will need to file a petition in the county family court where the children reside.

For best direction, consult a legal attorney who specializes in these types of cases. Every state has it's own laws, so best start there rather than taking some Yahoo's answer.
Best of luck!

Your best bet would be to seek legal advice from a family lawyer. I'm not certain what rights you would have but there may be something you can do. Sorry I can't offer more for you. Best of luck!

Unfortunately, there is no legal recourse you can use to demand any type of visitation rights. The only thing you can do is to appeal to this woman's sense of motherhood. It is understandable that she wants nothing to do with the parents of the man who, in her eyes, caused her pain. Try reasoning with her, it is the only thing you can do.

nope in most states there are no such thing as grandparent rights. My suggestion try and be supporter of her and she will probably allow you to see the child.

I would go to a solicitor and get the right to see your grandchildren. I am sure that the children do don't want to be separated from you.
