I was unable to work last year, due to lupus. I am a single mom who has lived on child support and food stamps for the past two years.

Someone told me that even if you did not work last year, that there is still a form you can fill out and get money back on taxes. I suppose they were talking about the earned income credit.

Is this true? Please answer...cause I am soooo broke.

Thank you!!!

Earned Income Credit is based on a persons "Earned Income"
if you didn't earn any income, you do not qualify

They may have been talking about the Telephone Excise Tax Refund
This would give a refund of between 30 to 60 dollars based on how many live in your household

Sorry. If you had no "earned income", you can not qualify for the earned income credit. This credit was designed to help low earners but does not do anything for you if you did not have any income.

No, EIC requires Earned income, so you can't get it if you didn't work that year.

Good luck.

I'm pretty sure that someone misinformed you. You can't get money on taxes unless you paid taxes.
