Its a known fact that we label ourselves ... we refer to ourselves as atheists, agnostics, christians, etc. Obviously, when we carry a label that other people share, we will be the victims of generalized assumption. If this is the case, why we do we get so defensive when people ask questions that say "most christians" or "most atheists"? In fact, we even get defensive if the questioner changes "most" to "some". Is it because we truthfully are an exception to the rule, or because we don't want to face that we might be more like the generalizations made of us then we'd like to admit?

There were several questions asked last night that suggested that no one besides christians had any biblical knowledge whatsoever. In response to these questions, I posted one (that has been deleted, by the way, for "community guidelines violations") asking why so many christians thought that atheists didn't have any concept of the bible or christian belief. I got the most hateful, bitter responses that I've ever seen!

*Truth is most christians do not know their bible. they may know their chruch doctrine, but the bible they do not. I have been accussed of not ever being a christian and that even thought I know my bible, I am told that I cannot understand it because if I did I would never have left Christianity. That is a popular beleif which is from man and not found in the bible.
Truth is a lot of atheists and pagans like myself know the bible and understand it better than Christians. But if the Christian can convince them self that we do not actually know or understand the bible, then that let's him or her off the hook when we challenge their belief and have scripture to back our point up, because after all we are just unbelievers and everyone knows an unbeliever cannot know or understand the bible, so they don't even look the passages up to see if we have a point.*

You are quite right about labelling ourselves. I have found that many of the agnostic and atheistic people that have come up with answers on here know quite a bit more than a number of the Christians do. I am sorry that your response got deleted. That is rather aggravating. Your picture/avayar is quite pretty. Have a great Valentine's Day!

Very often, a general label such as "Christian" or "atheist" is a blanket that covers a wide variety of formalized belief systems (denominations or even the different philosophies that are categorized as atheism). If you pick a trait of one subgroup it usually will not apply to the group in general.

the final suggestion I ever have been given what this: gown your infant as you gown. So in case you're donning a tee, sweater and a jacket, your infant could be donning a onesie, snapsuit and jacket - or the equivalent in tiny togs. that's beneficial to function on one greater blanket via fact, of direction, your infant isn't getting the exercising from pushing the stroller. As for buying out of the homestead? via all potential, flow! quite some cultures have rules approximately waiting six weeks or sixty days or despite. yet they are in accordance with superstition, no longer medical technology. mutually as many pediatricians will inform you to steer away from crowds (and their germs) early days, for the sake of your sanity, get outdoors. I took my kiddo out from some days post-well-being facility on - and he grew to become right into a December infant. First, i'd flow wild and bounce off the partitions if i did no longer, and 2nd, we are residing interior the city. there is little selection to strolling. My son constantly slept and ate greater valuable on days as quickly as we would taken a walk.

Everyone gets offended easily. People seem to have more gonads when being "anonymous" online. If I post a question that will ruffle feathers, I don't ever go back to read the responses. That's how I handle that.

i think it's bad enough to have a label in terms of religious or non-religious beliefs and practices but it's another thing altogether when people try to lump you into a category with the rest of the people who claim the same religious or non-religious groups

Churchianity is a heathen religion. It does not follow Scripture, and in most cases does not even pretend to. The Almighty YHVH set up a system. He sent His “Son” YAHOSHUA to die for the sins of mankind so they would not have to. (They could choose to, but did not have to). Any person who chooses not to allow Yahoshua to take care of their sins, chooses to remain attached to their sins. They thus will wind up in the lake of fire which is YHVH’s method of cleaning this world, and eliminating sin and sinners. The Creator set aside the Seventh day for rest and worship. Yes that is the day usually called “Saturday”. We are not saved by obedience, we are saved by faith. However we are saved FOR obedience. As He said in John 14:15 (and in many other places) “If you love me, keep my commandments.
