I want to get this tattoo, (the rune at the top). I love it but I wasn't sure where to put it. I plan getting another one of the back of my neck. I decided I would like this one best on my forarm (1/4 of the way between my elbow and wrist, closer to the wrist). I have two sisters and they both say that forearm tattoos are manly and I should get it on the back of my shoulder or actually over my wrist.
I think the shoulder would look unsymetrical with my neck tattoo, and I don't like the wrist idea because it is not as easily covered up.
So what do you think? Are forearm tattoos masculine?

sm177y: I am getting a triquetra because to me it represents thiree things which are seperate yet intertwined. This is very personal to me because I am the middle child in a family of three sisters.

Also, I request you follow the link I provided and view my tattoo before suggesting where I get it. Obviously it would not work as a "tramp stamp".

Well...I must be one of the manliest, straight, married woman with 3 children ever. I have Celtic art (in black and gray) on my right forearm. NOONE has ever told me it was manly. Infact, I've had many, many compliments on it....even from the snobber moms at the elementary school my oldest son attends. I guess it just basically depends on where you're from and the values of other people. Around here, tattoos are considered art and those who don't have them envy those that do. (that's just around my town) I think that tattoos are a beautiful, silent-spoken expression of feelings and emotions. No matter what anyone thinks about your tattoo, if you're not going to be happy with it, don't get it. It doesn't matter what other people think. It's on YOU. Till death do you part. Good luck...and I think that tattoo would be perfect on your forearm, just as you described...but that's ONLY my opinion. Remember...your tattoos are your decision.

its not masculine to get a tattoo anywhere on you anymore. everyone has tattoos and its not a girlie or manly thing. try to think really hard about that design before you get it though. its kinda hard to make that look interesting. it looks like a lot of other peoples tattoos and the best thing to do when getting a tattoo is getting one that no one else has.

forearm tattoos masculine

the actual tattoo is what determines if it is masculine or not in my opinion. i know girls who have forearm tattoos and i don't think it makes them look manly at all. now if you had a bulldog with like grenades or something... that may be a little masculine. i have wanted to get a triquetra tattoo... since 2000 but i haven't yet. i guess it just hasn't been the right time for me.

(however, i wouldn't get it in black because i just think it would look... not pretty.)

Tats in the foreamr area on a women NO matter what they are ... yes they are manly looking. Something like this could look good on your wrist or shoulder ... possibly belly area

Maybe...But it depends on what kind of tattoo you want. Like a girly one. But I always thought one on your ankle or your hip looks better.

Yes, do one on your lower back. And don't do a butterfly, they are to popular.

Make it a tramp stamp (above your butt in the middle of your back)
