If your vet said it would clear up on its own I would look for another vet who knows what they are doing.

If your dog is urinating and it has blood or a fowl odor your dog has an infection and needs to go to the vet as soon as possible. It Will NOT Clear up on its own.

The most knowledgable person to answer your problem is your vet. I would suggest contacting them. If it is an infection, the vet can give you something to give her to clear it up. If it is a bladder control issue, then there "might" be something on the market for dogs, like their is for humans, to help control the problem.

you must make sure he doesn't smell any old pee, you need to clean or replace his blankets completely. There is a great product out there called urinegone look it up on the internet and they will tell you where you can purchase it, it is harmless to pets and you can spray it on all blankets and surrounding areas that might have his urine smell on it, it comes with a light that is black and shows where any urine might be.

Cocker Spaniels all pee uncontrollably.

They ought to come with a threaded buthole so you can fit em with a mop handle to clean up.
