First of all, I am not trying to overgeneralize. In all honesty, I've met more compassionate christians than snooty ones. But others...

I mean, some of them even ADMIT that they donate to charity just to please God or to get to heaven. Just my personal opinion though.

Yours?

It is clear that our good works can not get us to heaven. I do good works not to get to heaven but because I love God and want to please him. I already have eternal life. These works come from gratefulness.

So you think we are sucking up to God, right?
Okay, I might could see that, but in a different light.
I don't give to get to heaven because I don't think that is possible, but I do want to live a life that is pleasing to God. You could say that God is the driving force in my life. It is a bit selfish though because when I live within God's will I get a major payoff. I'm happier and satisfied with my life.
I also want to so God's love to others and the best way to do that is by being kind to others.

donating to charity is an act of doing good to the world and to serve God. and its not sucking up. so are u supposed to be modest and say NO u don't donate to charity when u do?... people who DON'T donate are ...just not worthy to even talk about cuz they're greeedyy..:) ..besides when u die, ur not goona bury ur money with u... right? so wats wrong with giving a little away to help others? its the heart that counts :)
