Braising steak cut into cubes
Celery, Onion, Garlic, Leek, Carrot (any other veg to hand), roughly diced
Celery Salt
Mixed Herbs (dried or fresh)
Mushroom ketchup or Worcestershire Sauce
Beef stock or Bovril mixed with water.
Little lemon juice.
Cornflour
Salt (be careful), pepper to taste.
Chop the veggies into cubes and saute.
Put these into the casserole dish or slo-cooker
Coat the beef into cubes.
Saute until brown on all sides
Put that into the casserole or slo-cooker
While you are browning turn on the kettle
Mix the beef stock, Bovril or whatever you are using
and when beef is done pour into frying pan to pick up all the juices.
Add herbs and pepper
Pour over the vegetables and meat.
Cook until meat is tender and not chewy. Long and slow is best.
If necessary thicken with more cornflour and a little cold water.
Serve with a big batch of boiled, mashed or baked potatoes and a green salad. Enjoy.

cook braising steak in a brine, use a crumbled oxo in just enough water to cover the steak, in a casserole dish add chopped onion and carrott (diced into cubes ) and cook on a low heat in the oven 180c or no 4, until tender. depending on how much meat you use and if you cut it into cubes 0r leave it whole should take about 1 1/2 hours.

Fry some onion in a large oven proof dish, add the steak (diced), pour over 1 can of Guinness, put in the oven for approx 2 hours on about 170, when it has been in the oven for approx. 1.5 hours add some button mushrooms. Serve with boiled potatoes and some yummy steamed veg, carrotts and cabbage works well.

Braise it.
Seal it then cook slowly for a couple of hours, with lots of sliced onion, covered with a little water, until the meat is so tender it falls apart when you push it with a fork. Make gravy with the cooking juices. Serve with creamy mashed potato and some veggies.
