My daughter has very dry skin - especially on her hands. She is only 10 yrs old and with the somewhat extreme winter weather we have been having - that doesn't help. Obviously she uses lotions but, they are not doing the trick. Can anyone recommend a product that is effective and won't make her little hands sting so much?

Thanks in advance and
Happy Valentine's Day!

One thing that i've found works well is Eucerin Aquaphor healing ointment, put this on her hands ( i know this sounds strange) but wrap them in saran wrap over night and they'll feel better the next day and start healing... i suffer from the same problem, my hands dry out becuase of washing them so much throughout the day due to work ( winter makes them 100x worse) hope it helps.

Every year about this time when it's really cold & dry, my hands get real bad. The skin on my thumbs will crack (ouch!). When it gets that bad I use Cornhuskers lotion. Made for men with really rough hands. Stay away from perfumy-girly creams - especially kinds with alcohol in it. Aveeno makes some good products too.

Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and use a face pack of ripe bananas and honey. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for dry skin at the link below.
