OK I am covered in tattoos, and the Philippine's is one of the places where it all began, they have a long history of tattooing and are one of the Meca's of tattooing. that being said there are not really any health regs on tattooing there either. honestly if you want a really unique piece, that is done well then i would find a shaman (not sure what they are actually called in the Philippines) and have a traditional Philippine tribal tattoo done. there are longs standing customs involved and a rich history that dates back a thousand years. and the ceremony involved is a very special sight to see and helps ensure the cleanliness of the whole process. you will not be able to really pick what you want and it is more painful that "Modern" tattooing but i believe it is worth it. if you want a colour piece or want something specific, wait until you are 18 and do it in the united states or New Zealend. many of the best shops in the world are in those 2 locals. i leave you with the words of Axle Rose "When you want a tattoo, you know exactly what you want and where you want it;wait a year, if you still want it all exactly the same in a year you will want it the rest of your life." i hope this helps.

When ever you get a tattoo you want to research the place and i was young and stupid and i have 7 tattoos an i am 28 yrs old. I didn't research the places and some out of the seven only three i like because the other 4 don't like right now. I wish i would have had patience and waited untill i had researched. Plus you could get a disease you don't know where there needles have been. Wait 1 more year for health reasons and for your sake that you will get a good tattoo after researching about tattoo artists and there place of business.

Don't get a tattoo! It's very painful and depending on where you get it you even risk acquiring potentially fatal diseases like Hepatitis.
If you change your mind and decide you don't want the tattoo any longer it will cost a LOT of money for *many* painful laser treatments to have it removed. Even then some of it may be unremovable.
If you can't afford the treatments you're stuck with it. Also, as you grow older and your skin wrinkles and sags, the tattoo will also do the same and become even more unsightly.
Do yourself a favor: if you must get a tattoo, get one of those that last for a few days then wash off. You'll thank me when you're older...don't ask me how I know ;)

i wouldent do it, i was in thailand recently and i looked at the tattoo conditions, they were poor like im guessing the philippines are. just wait and pick out something your really want. dont get one just cause. youll regret it like i do.
you dont want an infected tattoo, im in the army and ive seen what happens to alot of soldiers with infected tattoos and its ugly. it permitely ruins the tattoo and makes it hard to fix. if its your first tattoo then you wont know how to take care of it properly and an enviroment like the philippines isnt the best place to do it

wait until you turn 18 and get one done here in America. its way more clean and safe. if you want a tattoo that is done by the long sticks with the needle on the end (like they used to do in ancient times) than go to Hawaii. they do really good work there.

as a resident of the phils., i can say that it is. a lot of males here have one or a hundred.
but you have to know where to have your tattoo tattooed. not everywhere is safe and clean..
you can try those in malls. stay away from those in streets.

Just go to a certified place. I got a tattoo done in Thailand when I was only 12, everything went fine.

whether its safe or not would entirely depend on the tatoo shop...i would do a careful inspection of the cleanliness, ask if they reuse needles, how do they sterilize them, do they double dip their ink...PI is a hotbed of sexual activity, and aids and hepatitus lurks everywhere....
ps--i watched a yakuza guy give a tatoo in japan using a sharp bamboo stick...very painful, but beautiful results. this guy was a pro

honestly when it comes to my health i wouldn't risk it! i would gladly wait one year to be old enough rather than potentially get hepatitis, AIDS or some other disease. but do what you want. i'm sure tons of people get them every year but i trust my tattoo artist and don't fancy going to someone who may or may not be a good tattooer.
