I am a SAHM that doesn't have a lot of friends and am looking to meet new people in my area. I was wondering if anyone could tell me some good sites to go too or good ways to post looking for playgroups or other SAHM's.

I can't say what will work for you but these things helped me. I'm a member of a playgroup that I helped start 4 years ago. We met on Yahoo Groups as a part of a group for Navy wives stationed here. It worked out that some of us had preschoolers and we started the playgroup. I've found the same type of group when we lived in another city through the regional boards that were a part of iVillage at that time. So I'd look for regional groups any place you frequent on the Internet. Yahoo Groups, iVillage, MySpace, Mothering.com...

There's a pretty good article that pops up when I yahoo searched "finding moms". Here's one place I found it: http://www.mommysavers.com/stay-at-home-moms/finding-moms-group.shtml That site might be another place to look for regional mom's groups.

Also, http://www.matchingmoms.org/ can give you a list of moms near you.

Other than that, you can hang out at a playground or play place and just talk to the other moms there. If your kids seem to get along, sometimes that's all it takes to make some new friends.
