My public transportation provider never hires anyone with any previous revenue transit experience. It has hired women with no previous employment experience and once hired a disabled veteran with only one leg. Everyone hired for operator position undertakes an eight week in-house training program. Training wage is 12.65 hourly. Pass testing & CDL is free. If full-time, membership is required with ATU-843. Wage depends upon lengths of vehicle driven but may exceed 18 dollars hourly.
