I would use shades of yellow with the navy. Especially since there is only one window and not a lot of light. That also gives it a Spring feeling and that almost always makes a person feel good. Don't go overboard on the yellows. For your window treatment, you could have a narrow valance in yellow with some yellow sheers. That keeps it from 'screaming'. Maybe some real or silk daffodills in a planter, some yellow on toss pillows and maybe that ottoman. The pillows and that valance could be in a yellow/white gingham. The ottoman could be in a similar shade of yellow but fabric that is a little more durable than the gingham.
Maybe some yellow candles amidst some blue candles in one small focal point. I wouldn't put heavy drapes as you already don't have a lot of light coming in that window. But a nice set of blinds(maybe wooden look) and those sheers will give you privacy when you want it. And the blinds could be pulled up when you want to let light in and the sheers left closed, so that light still comes in, but you have at least a little privacy.

Navy is a great basic background, like black is. So you could really choose any color in the spectrum that you'd enjoy.
Sage greens, or amber colors would give a soft elegant color palette. If you prefer brighter colors, then reds an oranges, brighter yellows or copper gold prints would brighten things up.
If you're' going to keep your walls as the white background, then maybe find an art print that will bring all of your colors together, once you've decided.
Personally, I would choose more vivid colors, if the background remains white, and softer shades, like the sage, or sea greens, if you go to an ivory wall.
Tapestries are a nice print combo. Even Target has some great inexpensive lamps, pottery and other accessories in really great color themes this season. Just browsing there may help you find a color pallet to work with.
Good luck.

With Navy & White, there are not many limits -- stick with cool colors (no yellows, oranges, etc) -- SOOOO what are your favorite colors? Take some of your blouses out and start hanging them around until you get the color combos you like. Use plants to bring in the green and the outdoors. Clear glass bowls/trays can be used year round and you only need to change what is inside to coordinate with the seasons/holidays. Candles too. If you choose pink (only for example) -- choose the window covering to pull the colors together (floral, stripes, etc). The pillows can be an assortment of colors that compliment each other (different shades and patterns of pinks - for example again).

As my Mom is a HUGE fan of decorating around the colors blue white and black, I'd agree with Dixiegirl. Go for deep/vibrant oranges and reds, or dark and medium greens! My Mom likes terracota. It brings color to the room, and is inviting. My Mom's new house, has a wall (painted Brick Red) that seperates the kitchen and living room. Carpet is navy blue. Couches are black and walls are white. Its interesting and different. She brightens the couches with tyerracota throw pillows. Plenty of green plants, terracota drapes. And canvas paintings that have touches of green, white, black, blue, and terracota. Sounds overwhelming from my description I know, but really, its tastefully decorated, and the colors go well. If no one's answers are still helpful, try going to like Home Depot (Lowe's) or Linens N Things (Bed Bath and Beyond). They have color strips and you can just mix and match, than pick the colors you like most and start from there.

oh my goodness..
this is so much fun..okay this is what to do...go to your local dept store...find the isle that has all the pillows and stuff on it...find a big blue one, and then go for it... or find a rug that is close to your couch and lay pillows and shams and sit vases close to it...mix up the colors... about any color goes with navy so if you want bold, try reds if you want more demure, go with burgandy..but i can tell you...white reflects the light so add a big mirror on the wall opposite the window to make it brighter and more open... the ottoman i would suggest matching up with one of the pillows that you pick out..or another suggestion is local store like pier one...little pricey but they love to help you...
i love starting a new room..if you dont like mirrors try painting one wall a different color..remember this is open pallete so you can put your fave colors in this room and make it yours..also i love those open wooden boxes..they have them in black and white so you could use those and put different type of candles in those....but just relax and enjoy the experience...its your room!!
good luck

Keep all the walls white.
Personally I would accent with metallics on the window treatments, silver preferably, this will reflect the lighting. Mirrors can make a room look bigger and reflect lighting as well, thus killing two birds with one stone; making the room look bigger and accentuating the lighting.
Accents can be just about any color you like. Add plants if you don't already have them.

Navy goes well with Khaki, white, silver, light green, etc. Find pillows that match the curtains you buy to make the couch less bold.

Wow really any color goes with navy and white.
I would just find what is pleasing to your eye either solids or patterned. I would them buy some toss pillows to bring the color to the couch.
Your room should reflect who you are.

cream and/rasberry would look good for the pillows+drapes. i dont know what an ottoman is (unless its like a giant footstool)so cant help with that. you could use venetian blinds if you are short of light or space as they take up less light (and space) than drapes do.it could seem cluttered if lots of patterns are used so keep it simple and good luck

I really like the idea of a light turqoise with the navy, and some stripes...giving it sort of a beach feel. You could add some coral as well to brighten it up :)
