because they are trying to use religion as an excuse for not bieng able to get laid.
Just like pedophiles hide out as catholic priests so no one will question why they don't chase after girls.

Have you ever seen a really ugly couple walking down the street, and they have one or more kids in tow? And then you start to think that these people actually BRED, not once, but two or three times? And you wonder how the hell they managed to do that without covering their heads with paper bags so as to maintain some semblance of sexual arousal long enough to complete the act? And then you notice that the kids are butt-ugly, too? And then you think that maybe these people would have been better off abstaining from sex not just BEFORE marriage, but afterwards, as well?
Yeah, I've seen that, too.

Not ALL of them, thank you very much.
Although I am married now (so obviously not abstaining) there was a time when I was single and abstaining for religious reasons. I never had any complaints about my looks.

But, I'm not FUGLY...and my BF isn't either. But we are abstaining from sex for religious reasons.

Looks aren't every thing either!
People abstain from it because they are waiting for someone who finds the true beaty that God put inside them.
Again, looks aren't everything.

I bet you've never heard of the concept: Judge someone from their heart instead of their appearance.
I've know many "beautiful" people that are waiting for marriage.

Now come on. One of the hottest girls I knew in college was very religious and I am very sure still a virgin at 22. Trust me, I tried.

I don't think they're always, or even usually, fugly, but maybe it helps some people to feel like it's their choice rather than having celibacy choose *them*.
