Reading up on it with it's side affects, it reads like a demon's resume. I'll gladly accept any info anyone has to offer.

While I don't take Metformin to regulate blood sugar, I do take it for PCOS. The side effects are minimal and the worst of it is the diarrhea. You will learn not to over eat due to this will make the diarrhea worse. As you titrate up on your dosage you may find that you have an upset stomach or even vomit. But like I said the worse is the diarrhea and this will subside after your body adjusts to the medication.

I've been on it for more than a year with no side effects other than the one that is a bit humorous. It did give me a bigger appetite at times. I find it seems to work better to take it right before you eat rather than at the end of the meal. If I eat out, I take it before I leave home. I can't prove the difference and you should do what your Doctor requests.

Yep, currently on 1000mg a day. Works on a timed-release basis, and is working very well for me for the last three years. I guess any drug has horrendous sounding possible side-effects, but for me Metaformin just regulates my blood glucose level extremely well with no side effects at all.
