What do other races think about England? Why is it important?

2007-02-14 07:48:14 · answer #1 · answered by babygirl 2 · 4 2

Having been to England, I say it has its problems as well. Though there is much difference between Queen/King and a President ......... I dont see how a President compares. Yes, there is corruption among both, but Queens/King tend to care more about people as people than a President does. Presidents are put into office by disguised agendas where England installs by heredity. Black England is a reflection on England, where Black america is addressed on an as needed basis (not the need of blacks but the need of whites).

I should think what black people think of England would be shaped by their experience with the British realm. East Africans, South Africans, Caribbean peoples, Central Americans, South Americans, Sudanese, West Africans, Australians, North Americans, North Africans, Sri Lankans, Indians, Middle Easterners, and British black people should all think of England differently.
Black people do not constitute a monolithic brotherhood.

I'm not black, and I've never been to England, so I'm not really qualified to answer the question. However, I did hear an interview with a black jazz musician (his name escapes me) who spoke about how much he loved Europe. He was around during segregation here, and found when he traveled to Europe to perform, he was treated infinitely better. He didn't encounter the same kind of bigotry, and realized that the rampant racism wasn't his fault. I don't know if his experience included England, just food for thought.

i speak for my self as probably the only black person answering this question but i see England as home i was born here, lived here all my life and am always wearing the 3 lions on my chest whilst watching the world cup i think people who see a black person as any different to themselves are racist.

Charles 2 - have you ever heard of the Untouchables? I believe your upper classes are far more snobbish than ours. As for the Kohinoor (sorry about spelling) diamond, I have seen it in an exhibition at Buckingham Palace and it was absolutely breathtaking. But wasn't it given as a present to our monarch?
To answer your question, I think black people are a lot more confident in their place in British society - I think they feel they belong now, now that they are 2nd/3rd generation. And rightly so.

I have close friends (a family of 5) who lived in England for 8 years. They loved it but they love the United States too. Places are usually what you make of them If you go around looking for something to complain about you will find it.
I am not Black but I personally do not like Prince Charles or his dog faced wife, but Prince Harry & Prince William are cuties.
I love the accents, my friends all speak with it.

I love how all the answers were from people who aren't black. Idiots. I like England, I have nothing against. I may even visit one day. Some of my favorite music artists are from England.

I imagine they think about England in the same way as white people. Unless they aren't British..... in which case Should your question be "What do people that aren't British think about England?"

It's impossible to find out what ALL black people think.Expand your mind...use some logic. Personally,I hold England and Europe in general in higher regard than America as far as treatment to minorities goes.

Because I am not black. I can only render a guess: they probably think of England the same as they do about America.
